Report on Annual Book Fair 2022

The Annual Book Fair 2022 was held at Institute of Management and Information Science, in the Reference Library on Saturday, 17 September 2022 in association with Oxford Book Store, Bhubaneswar, Apeejay Surrendra Enterprise.
The proposal for conducting the book-fair was put across to Chairman, IMIS, Dr. K.K Beuria and Secretary IMIS, Prof. Preetiraj Patnaik. They approved and requested the Chairman, Library Advisory Committee (LAC), Dr. Usha Kamila to oversee the execution of the event. With support of Dr. Ananya Roy Pratihar, Prof-in-Charge, Library Affairs and Mrs. Prativa Samal, Senior Librarian, it was decided that the exhibition will be conducted on 17th September 2022 from 2 pm to 5 pm in Reference Library, IMIS. The library committee comprising of Dr. Usha Kamila, Dr. Ananya Roy Pratihar, Dr. R.N Pattanaik, Dr. Ashish Mohanty, Dr. Sahadev Swain, Dr. Lopamudra Mishra, Prof. Supratim Pratihar and Mrs. Prativa Samal conducted a meeting regarding the initiation of the Book-Exhibition.
The event was inaugurated by the Chairman, IMIS, Dr. K.K Beuria on 17th September 2022, Saturday at 2:00 p.m in the Reference Library,IMIS. The event was also graced by Director IMIS, Dr. Usha Kamila, Secretary IMIS, Prof. Preetiraj Patnaik, Dean(s) of various departments and other faculty members.
Books across various segments like Classics, Children books, Management books, Self-help books, Fiction and Non-fiction were displayed in the fair. A section named "Motivational" added much attraction to the fair. Almost all the book sections were arranged by Term-I students of PGDM 2022-24 batch. There were more than 300 hundred books on display and out of which more than 60 books were sold within a span of 3 hours.
The fair remained open from 2.00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Several students, faculty members and alumni visited the fair. It was a great opportunity of having varied choice of books. Students have shown interest for holding more such events through which they can expand their field of knowledge. The amount of sale of books was also beyond the expectations, as expressed by the representatives of Oxford Book Store. The manager of Oxford Book Store reported that they could sell books of Rs. 12150/- during the event.
The students of PGDM Term-I deserves acknowledgement as they showed their best managerial skills to execute the plans efficiently and successfully. We are thankful to library staffs whose continuous support in every aspect of the event made our endeavour fruitful. We also remain grateful to our LAC (Library Advisory Committee) members for their timely suggestions. Last but not the least we remain obliged to the Management of IMIS for being a constant support for all our programs.
