Challenges and Future Prospects of Ethanol Blending on Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Growth in India: Lesson from Brazil
Shashank Sharma1, Shubham Sharma2
Ethanol is a type of renewable fuel which is made from various types of plant materials collectively known as “biomass” (US Department of Energy). The Government of India in its National Biofuel Policy, 2018 had set an ambitious target of 20 per cent blending of ethanol in petrol by 2030 which was then advanced to 2025. As of 5 June 2022, India has achieved 10 per cent ethanol blending, five months ahead of schedule. The main objectives of the Ethanol Blending Program are to enhance energy security, move towards a low carboneconomy and promote inclusive growth of farmers and local enterprises. If the government becomes successful in achieving 20 per cent ethanol blending it can save around Rs. 30,000 crore per annum in imports which will improve India’s balance of trade and also strengthen our energy security. In the global context, the USA is the largest producer of ethanol and Brazil comes second. These two together produce 85 per cent of the world’s ethanol. This study comparatively analyses the ethanol blending program and policies of India with Brazil as both the countries produces the majority of its ethanol from sugarcane, whereas the USA uses corn as a feedstock for producing ethanol. Furthermore, both India and Brazil are developing nations and Brazil’s ethanol blending program is more than four decades old which offers a lot of expertise and insight for successfully integrating ethanol with fuel economy.

Dr. Subramanya Manjunath1
The increasing trend of information and communication technology (ICT) and rapid digitalization have compelled the businesses to undergo major transformation. This apart, the nature of work and the workplace have also dramatically changed following the global pandemic. As the expectations of customers are continuously changing with frequent changes in market scenarios, the needs and aspirations of the younger workforce are also changing. While organizations are striving to excel in business performance and sustain business with a competitive edge, the pressure started mounting on the employees to cope with the growing business needs. Accordingly, organizations have realized that to sustain business and achieve competitive advantage, it is rather important to be innovative and develop products and services that are inimitable and non-substitutable and able to deliver to customers with agility. Hence, to achieve this purpose, it becomes necessary for organizations to ensure employee’s happiness at work and give more thrust on their wellbeing, maintain psychological health and safety, and more importantly valuing their contributions through timely recognition. Thus, the concept of workplace spirituality started gaining momentum in some of the organizations with the hope that spirituality at the workplace enables the employees to get involved in a true sense of their work with passion and would connect them to the organization with a sense of belongingness and get them engaged in bringing more creativity and value addition to the job roles. With this perspective, this research study aims to get an insight into the concept of workplace spirituality, its significance and transcendent features in the changing workplace. The study analyses its impact on employee performance and business sustainability. Followed by the implications, the study concludes with the role of organizations in implementing workplace spirituality that aids the employees in the joy of working and in achieving business sustainability.

Supply Chain Management to Green Supply Chain Management: A Journey towards Sustainability and Well-Being
Pranjali Das1, Dr. Gouri Prava Samal2
In recent years, the growing emphasis on sustainability has led to a significant transformation in Supply Chain Management (SCM), giving rise to Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM). Traditional SCM primarily focuses on efficiency and cost reduction, whereas GSCM integrates environmental considerations into supply chain operations, ensuring longterm sustainability. The study explores the evolution of GSCM from conventional SCM, highlighting key transition phases and essential practices that contribute to sustainability. It adopts a qualitative case study approach, incorporating a comprehensive review of literature from various secondary sources such as academic articles, books, industry reports, and case studies. The study finds that the shift from traditional SCM to GSCM is driven by environmental concerns, regulatory mandates, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and evolving consumer preferences. Some of the remarkable companies like Walmart, Unilever, Tesla, Nike, and Apple are instances which highlight productive shift by incorporating various green practices into their supply chains. Additionally, GSCM contributes to overall well-being of the company on the basis of employees, communities, and consumers. The research offers a theoretical framework for understanding SCM’s transition towards sustainability and provides actionable insights for researchers, supply chain managers, and policymakers to develop sustainable strategies that align with social and environmental goals.

Work- Sleep Relationship Amongst Employees with Different Work Experiences
Dr Preeti Goel1, Ms . Ap oorva Goel2
Every person has different working hours and schedules as per the demand of the occupation. With the advent of technology, the concept of fixed working hours is no longer a matter of concern or imposition in the companies. But at the same time the company is very much focussed on the output, or we can say they set the fixed time period for getting the work completed which eventually makes the working hours much longer to finish the delegated task than the routine proposed working hours. Hence the pressure to deliver is always on their heads. Sleep is an essential part of good health. Many of us have witnessed that deprivation of sleep cause emotional disorders like irritability, anxiety, depression. Talking about different phases of sleep, it is divided into Rapid Eye Movement (REM) and Non-Rapid Eye Movement (NREM). Bhutan was the first county to adopt the concept of GNH in 1972. Work and sleep are considered as the prominent variables to assess the happiness of the people. With time as the employee progresses in terms of years added to his experience he either gets settled or perform with double pace to get a hike in his package or get recognised for his performance . The objective of the study is ‘to assess the ‘work- sleep’ balance of Corporate Employees’. And also ‘to find the difference between time usage (work -sleep ) in relation with the experience level of the employees. A random sample of 64 employees of both genders working in leading FMCG company in Delhi-NCR region was taken through a standard questionnaire. The data was analysed by using ANOVA. No significant difference was found between the groups for work sleep pattern and employees with different level of work experience. However, difference is noticeable within the group. It reflects that the corporate culture forced the employees throughout their service tenure to work harder and get involved fully . However, there is a difference in the individual approach as per se the employees depending upon on their orientation and aspirations, which was reflected with in the group of the sample. Environment of the corporate also matters for this sample which was not taken into the account for the study. The future research may be conducted on the different corporates with a larger sample in different work experience categories.
